When did you last throw away unmerged work? The last time you deleted or closed some unfinished work, what lead to that situation?
Do you ever find yourself with half-finished user stories, sitting around for ages, unmerged? Or stale pull reqeusts from last July?
I recently closed a bunch of pull requests from previous team members. Some of whom had left the company more than a year ago.
On the one hand, it can feel good to delete some uncomplete work, and “clean the slate” so to speak. But what lead to this situation in the first place?
Think back to the last time you deleted or closed some unfinished work. What lead to that situation in the first place?
Let me know your experience.
Don't work ahead
Working ahead in software is a very risky thing to do, and is almost never a good idea.
It's not valuable until the user can use it
Products or features not yet in front of the user are called "waste" in Lean.
