Two things to do when you break the build

I broke the build. Again.

I broke the build.

Again.

That means two things.

  1. Today I reverted the breaking change immediately.
  2. I’ll be writing a test to prevent that breakage from happening again.

I’m still not sure what it is about the breaking commit that actually caused it to fail. But I’ll be investigating that, and adding my test first thing tomorrow.

As part of my first week on the job, I met a candidate for another position there, and we started talking about controversial opinions in IT. Unfortunately, we found nothing to disagree about.
